The Royal Ballet School of Antwerp is one of Belgium's leading institutions for classical dance training. The commission was to create a set of promotional images to carry the school's identity across their communications for the coming year.
We worked in the school's studios over the course of a full day, moving through rehearsal spaces and training halls with the students mid-session. The light was clean and institutional, and the approach was to find moments of flight and focus within the ongoing rhythm of practice.
The final images range from action shots mid-leap to quieter moments of preparation and rest. Together they try to communicate what it feels like to be inside a place where the body is trained to its limit every day.
