The commission was for a set of professional portraits, to be used across festival programmes, grant applications, and her professional website. The session was built around a single window and a warm afternoon. Wendin has a very direct quality in front of the camera, and the brief was to hold that directness while giving the images enough structure to function professionally.
Minna Elif Wendin is a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and project leader based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Trained at Dans- och Cirkushögskolan and Stockholms konstnärliga högskola, with a master's in performative arts from Gothenburg University, Wendin has built a practice that moves between performance, choreographic research, and participant-based work with young audiences. She has worked as a dancer and performer with artists including Malin Hellkvist Sellén, Magnus Nordberg, Bojana Mladenovic, Helena Franzen, and Virpi Pahkinen.
In recent years, Wendin has developed choreographic projects rooted in participation, most notably Soft Space, a work created through a process with individuals who share norm-breaking experiences, which premiered in 2024 and has continued into 2026. She has received the Air Litteratur residency at Finnekumla dans och konstscen, a working grant from Konstnärsnämnden, and cultural support for scenic productions and choreographic projects.
